The Polish public broadcaster TVP will begin HbbTV broadcasts ahead of the Euro 2012 championships, which Poland is co-hosting with Ukraine between June 8 and July 1 this year.

At the same time, it will increase the coverage of the first DTT multiplex (MUX-1) to over 90% and start to offer its two flagship channels TVP1 and TVP2 in HD.

TVP’s first HbbTV signals will be available to viewers watching TVP (TVP1 HD) via DVB-T or DVB-S.

The broadcaster has until now been trialling HbbTV in cooperation with 4vod.
